Fons

It all starts here.

In Latin, “fons” means “spring”: the exact point where water emerges from the earth and begins its journey. The silent origin of all things.

Designed for the home of Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Cinzia Primatesta, overlooking Lake Orta, the Fons lamp from Désian’s LAQUA collection translates this idea into a light, vertical gesture. From a circular base rises a cluster of slender stems, tightly clustered together like jets of water rising toward the light. A slender, minimalist form that seems to grow from the floor.

At the top, a soft lampshade captures the light and lets it filter through small carved butterflies. These delicate silhouettes rest on the surface, and when the lamp is turned on, they come to life, tracing a luminous flight across the wall.

The copper-toned finishes complement the wood, fabric, and warm tones of the space, while the light spreads subtly, without ever overwhelming the room.

Fons doesn’t just illuminate— it generates.

Like any spring, it embodies the idea of a beginning—the beginning of days that dawn on the lake, of stories that begin within the family and continue to unfold over time.

Fons is more than just a lamp: it is the point from which everything takes shape, a luminous sculpture that celebrates our origins. An icon destined to stand the test of time.
