Lacus

The lake. And above it, the moon.

In Latin, “Lacus” means “lake”: a still body of water that reflects the sky and reflects it back, night after night. A direct reference to Lake Orta, whose waters serve as the backdrop to the life and work of Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo, for whose home this lamp was created.

With Lacus, Désian ’s LAQUA collection takes its sights higher. At the center of a circular frame, a lunar surface sculpted in relief reveals craters, grooves, and ripples with almost tactile precision. It is no coincidence that on the Moon, the expanses that shape its surface are called lakes— lacus.

All around, a ring of warm light spreads across the ceiling like a halo, while the moon shines with a cool, silvery white. Two lights meet: that of the moon and that of its reflection on the water.

Lacus does not shine from above: it watches over.

It is the light of quiet evenings, of reading in an armchair, of shared moments of silence when the house slows down and only what matters remains.

Lacus is more than just a lamp: it’s the moon reflected in a lake, a luminous sculpture that brings the sky into your home. An icon destined to stand the test of time.
